Tyndale House Publishers was kind enough to provide me with a copy of The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book 101 of Chuck’s Favorite Facts and Stories. According to the cover the book was “written by the actual Chuck Norris” and it is officially approved by Chuck Norris.
From the prologue: “For those who have somehow not heard of the Chuck Norris Facts, they are mythical expressions of my life and abilities, a collection of sayings, quips, and quotes, created by young and old alike, that have elevated my character and personhood to almost legendary, Paul Bunyan-like dimensions.”
Several examples of Chuck Facts:
In addition to the Chuck Facts, the book includes some interesting stories about Chuck and a “corresponding core value from Chuck’s Code” for each Chuck Fact. Some of the stories are laugh out loud funny. Some are more motivational. All are worth reading.
What does Chuck Norris think about all the jokes? “Some are hilarious. Some are pretty far out. And, thankfully, most are just promoting harmless fun.”
I completely agree. Recently my father-in-law and I made a short trip to visit a couple of hospitalized relatives. I was driving and he was a rather bored passenger. (Who wouldn’t be after about four and a half hours on the road?) After our last stop for gas, and sensing our need for some comic relief, I handed him the book. We had about two hours of laughter to end our journey. Mixed in with the laughter were some inspirational stories and little bits of wisdom.
Not all people like Chuck Norris. If you are one of those unfortunate souls that despise the man you will probably skip this book. If you’re like me and my family you love Chuck Norris and have watched most, if not all, of the 203 episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger.
For everyone on the planet, I highly recommend The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book. If you love Chuck, you will love the book! If you like Chuck a little, the book may very well push you over into fandom. If you hate Chuck, the book might win you over.
You can read a brief introduction to the book here.
Many thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book.

From Canon Wired:
Do we really believe that the path to eternal life is narrow? So narrow that not even atheist hippy pop stars will make it in? Don your shallow thinking cap and come wander some contours of meaning in this parody of Rob Bell’s Love Wins book trailer.
