It would also make an excellent book for study by more mature believers who need a reminder of the riches of God's grace. Reading this book I felt as though I was a friend of Bonhoeffer's. I experienced some of the joys of his childhood and the trials of being part of the resistance. Highly recommended. This book satisfied my inner nerd regarding the science behind exercise and heart disease. If you need some motivation for getting off the couch and starting an exercise program, this could be your book. Going from no exercise to some exercise yields the largest marginal return of any change in exercise volume. Be encouraged! What works and what doesn't work at lowering cholesterol? Drugs, herbs, exercise, diet... this books covers it. Studies cited. This book is an excellent pro-life training manual. The question is this: WHAT is it that is growing inside the mother's womb? It is human. We don't kill humans. Period. Would you kill a todler? Why kill a baby before birth? It makes no sense. Discouraged by "studies" showing how bad Christians are? This book examines the methodology behind some of these studies. He also looks at goons like Barna who seem to have an anti-Christian agenda. D.A. Carson looks at inclusive language as it is used in modern Bible translations. He brings, what I consider to be, a voice of reason to this conversation. If you're a Christian and have a hard time understanding how depression can be, not always but CAN BE, caused by physical factors, this book is for you! D.A. Carson takes a look at the relationship between Christ and culture. Excellent analysis.
